Jagaddhatri Puja 2026 will be observed from November 16th to 19th. The puja is marked by elaborate rituals, beautiful idols, cultural gatherings and grand processions.

Durga Puja is one of the most sacred and revered forms of worship in West Bengal, offered with profound faith and devotion to Maa Durga, the Divine Mother. It honours her supreme power and her victory over the demon Mahishasura, symbolising the eternal triumph of righteousness over evil. The sacred observances span ten days, beginning with Mahalaya and culminating in the auspicious immersion of Maa Durga on Vijaya Dashami.
Durga Puja is a sacred occasion of worship and devotion, deeply rooted in the religious traditions and cultural heritage of Bengal. Elaborate temporary pavilions known as "pandals" are erected to house and worship the idols of Goddess Durga. The rituals, prayers, offerings and devotional practices of Durga Puja bring together people from all walks of life, fostering faith, devotion and a sense of community. In December 2021, UNESCO inscribed "Durga Puja in Kolkata" on its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, recognising its significance as a living tradition of religious devotion, cultural heritage and artistic expression.
The sacred observances conclude with the immersion of the idols of Goddess Durga and Her children in rivers or other water bodies. This Visarjan symbolises the Goddess's return to Her divine abode after blessing Her devotees. The immersion is accompanied by devotional chants, the resonant sound of the dhaak, and solemn processions, expressing reverence, devotion and the heartfelt farewell offered to the Divine Mother.
In harmony with the spirit of the puja, this portal envisaged to accommodate the need of all stakeholders in connection with processing & obtaining necessary permissions. This portal was launched in which every departmental stakeholder can work in a seamless manner through a single-window online system to process permission documents for Puja Committees. As the process is a single-window online system, members can apply for permission & obtain it at their ease without physically visiting various offices.
Kali Puja is a celebration of the goddess Kali, representing strength, power, and the triumph of good over evil. Kali Puja is also known as Shyama Puja or Mahanisha Puja. The state comes alive with decorations and vibrant festivities during Kali Puja. Visitors can explore historical and cultural hotspots during this time. Traditional rituals include elaborate pujas (worship ceremonies) dedicated to Goddess Kali, accompanied by devotional songs, prayers, and offerings.
Jagaddhatri Puja is a revered puja dedicated to Goddess Jagaddhatri, the protector of the universe. This annual event showcases intricate idol creations and vibrant processions, reflecting the goddess’s role as a divine nurturer. The puja is marked by elaborate rituals, cultural performances, and communal gatherings. Devotees honor Jagadhatri with offerings and prayers, seeking her blessings for peace and prosperity. The celebration combines spiritual devotion with artistic expression, fostering a strong sense of community.
